The human body is a fascinating machine that performs various functions starting from birth. There is still so much mystery about the human body left. As we all know that Brain controls the work of every organ and each system performs a major function like the nervous system, excretory system, muscular system, circulatory system, endocrine system, and digestive system, etc. We don’t have any idea about how many times our heartbeats per day or what our pulse rate is.

  1. Blood flow is highest in kidneys: More than the heart, brain, or liver, the blood flow in the human body is highest in the Kidneys. RBF (renal blood flow) which is 25% of blood flow is delivered to the kidney. The blood flow of the Kidneys is majorly directed to the cortex. 
  1. There are 2000-4000 taste buds in the average human adult: Although nasal cavities help in detecting the taste. There are almost 4000 taste buds present in every average adult human. Apart from the tongue, these buds are also present on the back of your throat. The nose is also considered as a component of tasting as it can smell. 
  1. There are 1000 types of bacteria species on the human skin: It takes about 28 days for the process of skin renewal. Skin is a protecting agent that acts as an external barrier to bacteria. It helps in protecting the internal organs by preventing infection. 
  1. There are between 2 and 5 million sweat glands: There are about 5 million sweat glands in the human body. As compared to men, women have more sweat glands. Sweat is generally produced when any type of physical activity takes place like working out, running, playing games, etc. The body consists of two types of sweats namely regular sweat and stress sweat. 
  1. The growth of fingernails is faster than toenails: As the nails are more often exposed to air and sun, they tend to grow at a faster speed than the toenails. Their growth is about two to three times faster than toenails. A fingernail is replaced every six months whereas it can take a whole year to grow back the toenails. 
  1. 80% of the human brain is water: Around three-quarters of the brain comprises water. The body requirement of water in males per day is 3.7 liters and in women, it is 2.7 liters. Because of less water consumption, dehydration may result in headaches, sleep issues, fatigue, stress, and lack of mental clarity. It is very important to keep the body hydrated to avoid such kinds of problems. Water improves attention span and memory function. 
  1. Pink lungs are healthy lungs: pink lungs are said to be rubbery, squishy, and healthier from the outside. People who smoke cigarettes tend to have black and tarry lungs which can be a great threat to their lives. This may cause pneumothorax which is a spontaneous condition to rupture the lungs. 
  1. Black and white dreams: 85% of the people dream in colors while some people can not see any color in their dreams. This means that the person who is dreaming is just observing the situation and not living it. They do not seem to be emotionally connected with it. Also if you are dreaming in black and white, it seems as if you are lacking the freedom to express yourself and being controlled by someone else. 
  1. Your height is taller in the morning: Due to the normal activities that take place in the daytime, the cartilage in different areas along with the knees starts to compress slowly. While you sleep, the cartilage goes back to normal. There is an increase of about 1cm in height in the morning. 
  1. The foot is the most ticklish part of the body: Tickling can be more effective when it is done on a sensitive part of the body. Feets comprising about 8000 nerve endings which hold receptors for both pain responses and touch.
